Residents Survey

Each year since 1984 Hamilton City Council has undertaken a survey of the city's residents. Previously an annual survey, from September 2006 the survey has been conducted quarterly. The Residents Survey (RS) provides Council with information on the utilisation of and satisfaction with Council provided facilities and services, overall attitudes, and community needs and priorities.

Hamilton Economic Update

This publication reports on a selection of key indicators that monitor trends in Hamilton city and the wider Waikato region. The update provides statistical information for the latest quarter, highlights of recent happenings around the city and region and general information about Hamilton and its business and lifestyle advantages.


Community Outcomes Progress Report

Council is required to report every three years on progress made towards Hamilton's Community Outcomes.

The 2009 report presents information on the various indicators of Hamilton's Community Outcomes.  Thrends are highlighted where possible and general conclusions are made about the progress towards the outcomes.  The report's purpose is to help inform decision-makers about community needs in Hamilton, to promote better co-ordination and application of community resources.  The intention is to help guide Hamilton communities along the journey towards more sustainable development.

Quality of Life in New Zealand, NZ's Largest Cities

This project is undertaken by the city councils in the largest cities of New Zealand. It presents a picture of the quality of life in the largest metropolitan centres which are home to just under half the New Zealand population.

The Quarterly Regional Labour Market reports summarise unemployment data from the Ministry of

Social Development (MSD) in association with the most up to date Household Labour Force Survey (HLFS) results and the Job Vacancy Monitor (JVM).

A report conducted periodically by the Waikato Management School at The University of Waikato on the economic issues facing the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
