What we do
Formed in 1993 as an advisory/kaumatua to Hamilton City Council, the Council of Elders is a 15 person team aged over 60 who are elected by Hamilton residents. The Council of Elders meet monthly and regularly work with the Hamilton Mayor, Councillors and Hamilton City Council staff in a range of capacities. They are a voice for the residents of Hamilton, both young and old, on current issues and future objectives. Their aim is to help shape positive outcomes for the city.
