Connections
Connections to the Hamilton City Water Supply are usually arranged through a Subdivision or Building Consent process and these connections need to comply with the HCC Development Manual; which, for small and medium sized developments, is summarised in the Connections Guide.
Copies of the Connections Guide and applications for water connections and meters can be arranged through the Water and Waste Services counter on the 6th floor of the Municipal Building in Garden Place.
Water meters are required for commercial and industrial premises and other high use sites.
All residential lots should already have a water connection when sold for further development.
Commercial and industrial lots are not required to have a water connection when subdivided to allow flexibility for the subsequent building owners; you can find information on existing connections at Service Plans.
