'I have been involved in shaping Hamilton's transport future since 1989. The projects and strategies I work on now have strategic significance for the city, which is one of the main reasons I like working for the city.
Hamilton City Council has enabled my career development through varied work experience and tertiary study opportunities. From a career development perspective I have spent time in the road maintenance area, urban subdivisional development area, and on large new road construction projects. In addition, the Council has allowed me the time to study at university (5 years) which has resulted in a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and Masters Degree in Management .
Would I recommend working for the city as an engineer? Definitely! The diverse range of projects and career development opportunities has strengthened my skill set and abilities for now and for the future.' |
