Bus, Bike and Walk for Free

City buses are free for everyone

Hamilton's bus service across the whole city is FREE over the race event weekend.  Starting on the Friday and running through to the Sunday all city busses are free with extra services - half hourly - put on at peak times.  It's the easiest and fastest way to cross the city during the event.  Extra buses will be brought in to the city to cope with the demand.  Click here for more information on Hamilton's bus service and routes.

Join other fans and walk or cycle

The equivalent space of 200 car parks is set aside in two designated areas exclusively for cycle and motorcycle parking.  Cycle parks are located at Whitiora School and the Transport Centre, and Motorcycle parking is available at Honda Hamilton or Whitiora School.

If you live or are staying close to the race circuit join the rst of the fans on an easy walk to the event.

Hamilton 400 Bins

Recycling at the event

In addition to the 200 general waste bins an additional 300 recycling wheelie bins are around the V8 compound catering for glass, cans and plastic so race fans can discard their waste accordingly. The bins are regularly emptied into larger gantry bins situated around the event, helping keep the event clean. Easily identifiable waste ground staff are assigned to different sectors of the event and manage the waste generated by race fans and are on hand to answer any questions.
