Electoral system

The First Past the Post electoral system will be used for all elections except for the Waikato District Health Board election which will use the Single Transferable Voting electoral system.

Voting period

Voting documents will be sent to all eligible electors, by post, from Friday 21 September 2007.

The voting period is 3 weeks (Friday 21 September 2007 to 12 noon Saturday 13 October 2007). Electors may post their completed voting documents back to the Electoral Officer using a pre-paid envelope sent with the voting document. A Polling Place for the issuing of special voting documents and for the receiving of completed voting documents will be available from Friday 21 September 2007 to 12 noon Saturday 13 October at the Electoral Office.

To be counted, all completed voting documents must be in the hands of the Electoral Officer or Electoral Official by 12 noon, Saturday 13 October, 2007.

Progress results will be known about 1pm, and Preliminary Results will be known about 6pm on Saturday 13 October, 2007. These will be accessible on this website.
