Nominations

The opportunity to be nominated to stand as an elected representative candidate closed at 12 noon on Friday 24 August 2007.

To stand for office as an elected representative you must be:

  • over 18 years of age, and
  • registered on the electoral roll, and
  • a New Zealand citizen

You will need to be nominated by two people, who sign your nomination form. These people must be on the electoral roll in the ward, constituency or subdivision you wish to represent.

Nominations for all positions open on Friday 27 July 2007 and will close at 12 noon on Friday 24 August 2007.

  • Electoral Office, Hamilton City Council, Level 1, Municipal Building, Garden Place, Hamilton
  • By telephoning 0800 COUNCIL (0800 26 86 24) where one will be posted out

Detailed Candidate Information Booklets will be available from the Electoral Office (phone 0800 COUNCIL - 0800 26 86 24) from June 2007.
