Making a great city requires boldness and imagination. The Creativity and Identity Strategy responds to this and is an example of seeing the world afresh. The essence of the strategy can be encapsulated in this vision statement:

Creatively building our Hamilton identity through positive experiences that enhance our daily lives

What makes our city vibrant? What are our stories? How do we share them? How do we foster creativity and innovation? The potential of Hamilton is huge and, now more than ever, we have the means and desire to fulfill it.

There are four main themes to the Strategy

  • Attracting and Growing Talent
  • Enhancing the Aesthetic Experience
  • Re-connecting to the Waikato River as a source of meaning
  • Making Small Effective

There are three flagship projects currently underway

  • HamNet Wifi
  • Victoria Bridge light projection
  • Talking River Tour - digital story-telling

For more information on the projects see the link below -
