Our staff are involved in some great projects for our city. Here are just a few:

V8 Supercars
A wide and diverse range of Hamilton City Council staff have been involved in bringing the V8 Supercars street race event to the city.
- Roading design engineers – designing and developing the track infrastructure for optimal safe racing speeds
- Traffic engineers - developing traffic management plans so access to and from the event and the city is manageable and safe for spectators, visitors, residents and emergency services
- Utilities engineers – development of contingency plans for water and waste water requirements within the event area and surrounding suburbs for the duration of the event
- Environmental engineers – addressing the environmental impact and 'greening' the event
- Contract supervisors – managing the road resealing and other infrastructure requirements with external contractors to ensure delivery is on time, on spec and within budget
- Project managers – delivery of each aspect of the event, on time, on spec and within budget
- Senior planners – submitting the resource consent application for the city to host the event and ensuring all conditions were met for event to commence
- Communications executives – media liaison and public awareness of the event
- Marketing executives – developing promotional opportunities for the city up to and over the event
- Visit Hamilton – providing useful and friendly services to visitors to the city leading up to and during the event – accommodation, travel options, things to do
- Parks and gardens – landscaping, tree maintenance, transplanting and removal on and around the track to ensure a safe environment for the speeding vehicles
- Accountants – tracking the expenditure of each aspect of the project.

City Heart
- Planners and engineers – working alongside external urban designers and architects to bring bold concepts and pragmatic solutions that address the key issues in the city centre, and develop an urban design vision of future city design and development.
- Community liaison – hosting of public forums for design issues and concepts, as well as community liaison and public consultancy to ensure the possible urban design and planning solutions achieve the preferred outcomes for all interest groups.
