Ash Burial
An ash burial can be carried out by the family or by an assigned Hamilton Park Cemetery staff member in the absence of the family.
If a family is intering the ashes of a loved one they need to make a booking with the cemetery staff at least twenty four hours (24hrs) in advance. On the day the assigned plot will be prepared (dug) and dressed by cemetery staff. Flower vases will be provided and alongside the plot will be containers of soil for the family to use to fill the plot if they wish.
No staff will attend unless specifically requested by prior arrangement.
Following the interment and departure of family the plot and surrounding garden will be reinstated by staff.
If a family wish to have ashes intered, but not attend, they can make arrange this either directly with cemetery staff or through a funeral director. Family may request the day on which the ashes are to be intered on their behalf and cemetery staff will inter the ashes on that day, provided it is not a Sunday or a public holiday. |
